TRE ALTAMIRA will give a talk at the CGU and CSAFM Joint Annual Meeting
On May 31st we are giving a talk on “The Applications of InSAR Ground Deformation Measurements in Southern British Columbia”, as a part of The Canadian Geophysical Union (CGU) and Canadian Society of Agricultural and Forest Meteorology (CSAFM) Joint Meeting.
ORAL SESSION ES09B: In honour of John Clague, one of Canada’s foremost Earth Scientists
Time: 2:15 PM
Location: Room: GEOG 229 – Geography Building, University of British Colombia, Vancouver
Date: Wednesday, May 31st
Speaker: Giacomo Falorni
Chairs: B. Ward and B. Menounos
Our presentation will focus on how InSAR has been used to monitor ground movement in southern British Columbia. Examples will include urban areas where ground movement leads to structural and engineering issues as well as unstable slopes that could evolve into catastrophic collapses.
The CGU and CSAFM Joint Meeting provides an excellent opportunity for members of the scientific and professional communities to exchange ideas and knowledge across sub-disciplines of earth, environmental, and ecological fields. This year, presentations promise to highlight the valuable scientific contributions from Canadians and other members of the international scientific community.
