National Symposium of unstable Slopes in Spain

simposio-nacional-taludes-laderas-inestablesNext week you can meet us at the IX Simposio Nacional Taludes y Laderas Inestables that will take place on 27-30 June 2017 in Santander, Spain. This conference is devoted to current and future developments in methods for improving the analysis of slope instabilities and landslides. The symposium is organised by the Universidad de Cantabria, Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE).

We will give a presentation on a recent study conducted in Bolivia to monitor ground motion in an area where mass moves have occurred in the last decades affecting urban areas and transport networks. Our InSAR study aimed at delineating those areas more susceptible of presenting mass moves and to optimise the survey campaign to be implemented in the area. The study was centred on the town of Independencia and covered an area of 50km2 with images from the satellite Sentinel-1 for the period 2014-2017.
