We are dedicated to bringing satellite radar data down to Earth,
making it a standard information source to monitor the activity of our restless planet.

TRE ALTAMIRA is the largest InSAR group worldwide. With over 15 years of experience, we are globally recognised as leader in measuring ground motion with millimetric precision. We provide displacement measurements and mapping solutions from satellite radar data (InSAR technology) that are used in a variety of sectors, including oil & gas, mining, civil engineering and geo hazards.

Founded in 2000 (TRE) and 1999 (ALTAMIRA), we bring together a multidisciplinary team with excellent knowledge of SAR and InSAR applications. Our core competence is radar imagery processing and we are the reference InSAR provider for NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), CSA (Canadian Space Agency), ESA (European Space Agency), JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency), CNES (French Space Agency), DLR (German Centre for Aeronautics and Space) and the World Bank.

CEO

Alessandro Ferretti
MILAN

Alessandro is an electronic engineer graduate from Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI) University, with over 20 years’ experience in satellite radar data. He is the co-inventor of the first advanced InSAR technique, namely PSInSAR™, and of the latest industry standard algorithm SqueeSAR™. In 2000, he created, with professors Rocca and Prati, Tele Rilevamento Europa, TRE, as a spin-off company of POLIMI to market PSInSAR™. In 2016, he became CEO of the TRE ALTAMIRA group, when the Spanish ALTAMIRA INFORMATION was merged with TRE, under the acquisition process by the French group CLS. Throughout his career, Alessandro has driven the development of different monitoring solutions using radar data and their applications to the market. Keen for innovation, he strongly believes that satellite radar data can reduce risks, make people safer and help optimize operations in different market sectors, while respecting the environment.

Roberto Lorenzo
BARCELONA

Roberto has 18 years’ experience in Business Development. He graduated in Advanced Management Program at IESE Business School from the Universidad de Navarra after completing his Degree in Electronics Engineering. He joined TRE ALTAMIRA S.L. in 2015 as CEO providing experience in managing international business units.

Adrian Bohane
VANCOUVER

Adrian Bohane, CEO of TRE Altamira Inc. has more than 7 years direct experience with InSAR and more than 30 years experience in the collection, management and processing of remotely sensed satellite data, and project management. He was involved in the use and commercialisation of radar data since the launch of ERS and is an expert in the processes involving industrial take up of remote sensing activity. He has been CEO of TRE Altamira Inc. since 2010.

Vision
Remote sensing data collected by satellite sensors provide a unique – though still largely unknown – information source about our past (thanks to historical archives of satellite imagery), our present (providing timely information on specific areas) and our future (time series analysis can allow the development of predictive models). It is time to utilize Earth observation data and their unique features to help understand the past, observe the present and shape our future.

Our processing infrastructure

Data Processing CenterAn in-house processing Datacentre, designed to cope with the high demand of processing Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery. The architecture consists of a Linux-based parallel processing system, made up of approximately 100 servers and 276 cores for data processing and 10 CPUs for interactive session management. The system has also a storage capacity of 200 TByte accessed via a high-performance parallel file system.

Sales Manager
at TRE ALTAMIRA, Vancouver office

Published on 11th December 2017. Our downtown Vancouver office is looking for a permanent, full-time Sales Manager with an industry specific, geological or technical background to join our team. This position will make a valuable contribution to our organization’s success by building solid customer relationships, developing opportunities, and delivering compelling proposals to drive increased sales. The ideal candidate will have a background in Mining, Solution Mining or Infrastructure and will be available for significant travel as required to support customer and opportunity development.
You don’t have to have experience with InSAR to succeed, but you do have to be a highly motivated individual, with a natural technical sales instinct and be customer-focused to foster solid and lasting relationships with our clients. You also genuinely enjoy building relationships – both with our clients and with us! As a small team, we all work together and support each other, and it’s important that you can too.

Summary of the Position
Reporting directly to our CEO, and operating in collaboration with the rest of the Sales Team and our headquarters in Milan you will be:

  • Identifying new leads, establishing new contacts and business relationships in the relevant sales sectors
  • Making appropriate sales trip to develop the sectors
  • Preparing bids in response to RFPs and making unsolicited proposals within the sector
  • Negotiating terms and conditions and closing contract with clients
  • Liaising with new clients and maintaining existing clients within the agreed sales sectors; providing pre-sales and post-sales support
  • Reviewing sales performance to ensure that sales targets are met
  • Preparing and presenting technical and business papers at national and international trade shows, workshops and conferences
  • Attending appropriate trade shows and exhibitions at which TRE ALTAMIRA should be visible and representing TRE ALTAMIRA at those shows; providing product education and advice
  • Suggesting and giving input into the production of marketing materials
  • Working in close cooperation with the CEO and Manager of Operations to balance the growth of new business with the capacity to deliver such new business
  • Working in close cooperation with the entire TRE ALTAMIRA Group to foster information exchange regarding the sector and sharing technical and operational solutions with them

Supplementary Duties
The Sales Manager will also engage in wider activities of the company by:

  • Providing support to the CEO and to the operational efforts of the company
  • Liaising with the Accounting Department on cost and budget issues
  • Contributing ideas to improve the company’s overall service to customers
  • Fostering the sharing of information among the staff of TRE ALTAMIRA and promoting the TRE ALTAMIRA corporate culture to produce a work place in which staff are content and productive
  • Taking on other business sectors commensurate with the company needs

Education & Experience

  • Proven sales experience with 5 years plus in a relevant field is required
  • Post-secondary education in Geology, Geomatics, Civil, Geotech, Engineering, or other related disciplines is required
  • Deep commercial knowledge of one of the sectors of interest is strongly desired
  • Knowledge of remote sensing is an asset
  • Knowledge of InSAR is an asset
  • Knowledge of a foreign language is an asset (e.g. Italian, Spanish, French)
  • Knowledge of other ground deformation monitoring techniques (levelling, tiltmeters, etc.)
